
Stage 1 - Scoping Study
& Report
At a meeting of the
Client Steering Group (CSG) on the
9th November 2007 New Forest District Council was appointed to project
manage the review on behalf of the group by undertaking consultant
procurement and carrying out the SMP2 Scoping Study.
The coastal team at
New Forest District Council (which includes the
Channel Coastal
Observatory) offers a wide range of expertise and
experience, having worked on the
North Solent SMP Review, and with a number of south coast authorities
on Regional Monitoring projects and procurement procedures. They
are also members of the SMP2 project team.
The scoping study
was undertaken between December 2007 and July 2008 with the principal
purpose of providing background information for the SMP2 consultant to
assist in the preparation of the SMP review. The resultant Scoping

was included with the invitation to Tender distributed to potential
consultants on 24th July, and: |

Responses to the Invitations to Tender were received by 8th September 2008,
and considered by the CSG at a meeting on 25th September. The successful
consultant, Royal Haskoning, will undertake the SMP Review.
